Knowledge is Power / Move a Pinterest Board

You've heard the saying  KNOWLEDGE IS POWER ...
(image found here)

Well, I learned something the other day and it did empower me.

This new knowledge wasn't anything profound and you probably already knew it, but it sure made things easier for me.

So, what was it that I learned?
I learned that you can drag and drop your pinterest boards to alphabetize them.
This new knowledge has made finding my boards much easier when I try to search for one.

"Knowledge is power but action gets things done."

(image found here)

I just got so frustrated one day trying to find one of my boards and decided to click and drag a board to see if I could move it ...,  and it worked!   Now it is much less time consuming and much less frustrating.

If you are not willing to learn,
No one can help you.
If you are determined to learn,
No one can stop you.

Lovely Flowers and More

This lovely bouquet from Style Me Pretty is beautiful by itself, but has strands of pink beads laying beside it that adds so much more loveliness.

Aren't the colors so beautiful - soft and lovely pinks and whites.

I found some more lovely flower arrangements at Green Wedding Shoes
I love the addition of fruits (figs, pomegranates, pears, peaches, and the berries of course).  I Really Do Love This Look!

These colors are awesome, the place setting is wonderful ...

Of course I love the bottles ...

The drinks are even lovely aren't they!!!
I don't know what their drink is, but I would love this look with a Cran-Raspberry juice.  I'd love the look and the taste with those fresh berries.

And the cake is great ...

And this swing is awesome too ...

 Gorgeous!!!

I've pinned a few other bouquets and arrangements on my Pinterest Board - Flowers, Bouquets ..., - take a look if you'd like.

Wedding Decor

We had some time to kill one day while waiting for an appointment, and enjoyed looking at some wedding décor.

We took a few pictures to remind us of the looks we saw. The photos aren't very good - we were using a phone and just sitting and visiting while we snapped a photo here and there. We just wanted to remember the look not take a perfect photo.

In this photo we liked the crystal garland (not the bigger white garland, but the smaller double swag behind it).
Though not very noticeable, there is a gazebo (with some greenery) in the left of the photo, and we really liked that too.

This next photo shows a large bookcase or shelving unit with decorative hooks attached to the upright boards and a chandelier hanging from one of them.  I liked that idea, and it looked better in the room than it does in the photo.
Another thing in the next photo is the white bark branches - they too looked better than they do here.

We also liked the painted cement floor seen in the above photo and this next photo. (sorry, phone photos just can't make the look as appealing as it really is.)

Then there was this backdrop - quite lovely.

The sheer fabric had been sewn to create vertical tubing or casing all the way across the width (with the seams running vertically). Then each tube had a strand of lights threaded through it.
(I probably didn't explain that very well.)

It looked quite lovely when it was plugged in.

These were just a few looks we wanted to save because they were so lovely.

More lovely looks for weddings or other special occasions can be found here on my blog under the labels

Tablescapes

Table settings are a favorite thing of mine.  I don't set a pretty table for every meal, but I do love to set a pretty table for special meals like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.   Of course weddings and parties of any sort are a delightful reason to decorate a table to create a beautiful tablescape.

Look at this lovely table for two from Stone Gable

Throughout my blog one can find many beautiful tablescapes that others have created, and that have inspired me in some way.  There are many different looks, and each has something special to offer.
Many times it's what's on the table that makes the look, so check into post labels like these:

There are other great elements that can help make a beautiful and appealing tablescape.
Those things might include

Party Ideas

(Update - looking back on this post I found that it was "broken".  The links and photos were not working, so I did some research and found it again.  Most of the photos are exactly what I had originally saved, but there are a couple that I didn't know for sure, so I used what I liked this time. They might be something I posted somewhere else, so we see it twice, but I hope I haven't referred to something in a post I made since this post, saying that a look was here that now isn't here.  Sorry for the confusion!)

It includes things like these doily crowns

Great color schemes like this

Fun looks like this beach party

and this

and this - floating umbrellas

Her board will have the links to each of these photos.

Pinterest &/or Google Images

In my previous post about Lovely Outdoor Rooms I showed a picture of a chicken coup that I had seen first on Pinterest.  When I clicked on the link the pin'r credited I found it to be a fashion site that had nothing to do with that chicken coup photo I wanted to learn more about.  Was I doing something wrong?  Do I not know how to effectively use Pinterest?

Still curious enough about the coup I searched on Google and found that exact image - with the correct credit, where I could learn and see more. So I clicked on it - It was great!  Just what I wanted! Thank you Google!  And, that is the site you will find credit for when you look at the coup in my post - the rightful owner of where that image was found. Credit where credit is due!

As great as Pinterest is, I still search Google Images - I usually use both.   I like that Google is a search tool that doesn't have to have someone pin it there before I search.
Pinterest includes only those things that someone else found and pinned.  And there are a lot of those, so not to worry!

There is one thing that Pinterest has that Google search doesn't - that is the option to pin something I like so I can refer to it again.  I do love that! That is a big plus.

I need a space to remember a look I liked - that is why I have this blog.  I prefer to post those looks here in My Stuff Room but I do pin on Pinterest on occasion when I'm in a hurry, or when I'm planning an event - like my Valentine Decor Board.   Pin boards are a great way to refer to all of your "finds" at once.
Others have thought that some of my pins should be in a different board, but they were pinned there so I could refer to all those ideas at once while planning that one event.  Surely when I plan another event, or need an idea of similar interest, I will refer to that board even if it isn't a Valentine's Day event.
Though I am pinning on Pinterest for my personal use I realize that others see my pins and might like to learn more about them - (just like how I saw the coup and wanted to learn more).  Pinterest pins just don't contain all the info I/we want on a product or project.  Hence, back to the problem I mentioned in my first paragraph on this post - make sure to link back to the site that does have the info others want to learn and see about that individual pin.  I simply don't care about fashion when I'm wanting to learn more about that chicken coup.  And, I really might like to view the site on which the pin was originally found - they might have more good stuff to look into.
Pinterest is a great site, but it's not the talent behind each and every pin - let us learn who is! True - the pinner found it, but the creator really deserves the credit!

Oh Bother!  Maybe VENTING should be the title of this post!?!?!?

I hope that anyone visiting My Stuff Room will find the info they are looking for about the items I post about.  If not, please drop me an email and I'll try to be more helpful.  Thank you!

By the way - THANK YOU for visiting!
