door mufflers

I found this idea on pinterest a few days ago and thought it was worthy of note.

A door muffler for keeping things quite while your baby is sleeping - or in my case while my husband is sleeping.
Baby's Room DOOR MUFF - open and close your baby's room door without making a noise. BRILLIANT!!!!!
Sometimes it is the turning of the knob and opening the door that is loudest when peeking in on them or going into the room they are in for something you need. This would certainly help reduce that noise.
I feel so terrible when I wake him up like that.
Now I need a muffle for my dishes as I wash them ... ya, right!
I just don't wash them.  ;)
That is to mean, I try not to wash them while he is sleeping.

It looks like these things were being sold on Etsy.

I don't have a lot of pins for baby things, but I did pin this idea onto my Baby Stuff Pinterest Board
There are so many cute things and ideas available, but I'm kinda out of the baby stage (at least on the daily basis, like I was when all my kids were small and under foot). My how times change!

Baby Quilt

Look what we created!
We are not exactly what you'd call seamstresses...,
and if you looked closely at the stitches you'd probably let out a shriek similar to what you would on Halloween night...,  that was the trickiest part...,
but, it did turn out somewhat like I'd hoped.  It was so fun to pick out the fabric in the store and come home and create the look I was hoping for...,
I did have help with this from a couple of my girls.
We learned a few things as we went along..., so the next time it shouldn't be as tricky for us.

We would have loved some rosettes here and there, but the baby would not appreciate them, so we left them off.

Hand Prints

I think this is a cute idea.  My children are mostly grown up now, but I have grandchildren!  I might have to do this at our next gathering.  I don't have a lot of wall space (it's already filled) but I think it would be great (even better) as a throw pillow for my sofa.  I've been wanting some color in the family room and this could help me get a bit of color.  It would be fun to embroider their names with the same color used for their hand print, and to add the year it was made.  Strips of ribbon could be sewn down the side too.  So many possibilities.   From Inspired By Family Magazine

Added Another Print to our Collection!

This is a card I wanted to make when we had our last child (number nine), but was never able to accomplish that task. I loved it though, and think it is a great idea.

(Um! yes, we only have one daughter!)

This Thank You card was my inspiration

(Disclaimer: I found a reminder to post this and couldn't find a past post showing that I did post it, so I am posting it now. If I have previously posted about this, please forgive me - I just couldn't leave it out!)

Announcing Baby!

Doesn't this inspire? It's photos like this one that make me Look and Save.

I saw this on Pinterest and tried to find the DIY about it, but there was nothing. I don't really need it though, it's easy enough to DIY without someone telling me.

I see it two ways;
1) birth announcements, with all the right info and message.
2) wall art, adorable for the nursery, maybe behind a beautiful frame.

Well, I guess there is a third way - photo album/baby book.

LOVE THE LOOK  whatever way it's used!

An Occasion to Party in Pink!

Family and Friends gathered for a special day to celebrate the birth of our granddaughter. Babies are a special reason to celebrate. I wanted to use only what I already have for the table decor, not purchasing anything new.
I started pulling things from every room in the house to set up the centerpieces, trying to keep in a pink color scheme as much as possible. I don't have a lot of pink, but it did remain feminine.
I used flowers from past weddings and anniversary celebrations, odds and ends like my daughters pink piggy bank that was stuffed in storage, cloth napkins and pieces of fabric, and...well, the photos show what I used. So many times I purchase something thinking I'll use it sometime, and that is exactly what happened with the baby bottles and the tiny pearl candies. I've had those baby bottles for years and the candy was purchased in case I might want to use it somewhere in the last wedding our family had (we didn't, so it worked perfect for this occasion).
