Quilts

I love the quilting on this quilt.  The colors are wonderful.  The pattern is not necessarily my favorite, but the white could be playing a big part in making this Finished Scrappy Rainbow Quilt look so colorful and bright. From Diary of a Quilter
The back is really bright too.
And the edges look lovely with different patterns.  She didn't plan it that way, but ran out of the first pattern and used the small piece of a stripe.  I think it could have had a few different patterned sections throughout.
 ---

Here is a quilt from Moda Bake Shop that has some white in it, framing each color.

 ---

The white in this lovely quilt from Lucy & Norman is in the background.

One of my favorite things about this quilt is the strip of pieces in the back side.  What a sweet addition to create color and character.

 ---

This quilt from One Shabby Chic uses the same technique as the quilt above (I might have found it from a link on that site above).

Scrap Quilt

Throwing out fabric scraps can sometimes be hard, but hanging on to them can sometimes be harder.

Here is a way to use some of those fabric scraps, as seen at Sew Mama Sew

Family Room Beauty

Nice chair at the ends of the table - great chairs for my game/puzzle table, and comfy for when we need more seating in the family room.
This look was found on Sarah Richardson Designs

--
Been wondering how to stack my blankets in the family room instead of hanging them on a quilt rack.  This large bench / shelf / drawer / tray is a good look.
It reminds me of Princess and a Pea.
Found this look on pinterest.

This bench is from Indulgy - I really like the look of it, but I can't help but think that the legs would eventually break off if used as a bench.  It would be a lovely blanket bench though - stack my blankets on that!

Quilts I'm Lovin'

These quilts are among the

Stuff I'm lovin'

pretty pink baby quilt from Ingrid Barlow

-----
I love the not-so-straight stitch quilting here. Tutorial found at Katie Did

-----

The gray quilt above reminds me of a quilted pillow I found a long time ago, here, (and I still don't know where it comes from, but I love it).

-----

I also like the first quilt on this next photo - seen at Apartment Therapy
I like the look of the three different quilts together too ..., and on a built in porch makes it a lovely place for grandchildren to share some time together at their grandparents house ...,  Oh a lovely thought!
And, the three chairs as end tables, filled with books and snacks is another cute idea.

-----

I have had this photo in my file for a long time now, but haven't been able to find it again to name the source, but decided to add it here, because I saw it again, this time on Pinterest, and they give the source as 100 Layer Cake, but clicking that link doesn't take you straight to the quilt on the tree. I was so hoping to find that correct link straight to the quilt.  Maybe someday!

anyway ...,  the quilt on the tree and in the box is a fun look for the right occasion

Baby Quilt

Look what we created!
We are not exactly what you'd call seamstresses...,
and if you looked closely at the stitches you'd probably let out a shriek similar to what you would on Halloween night...,  that was the trickiest part...,
but, it did turn out somewhat like I'd hoped.  It was so fun to pick out the fabric in the store and come home and create the look I was hoping for...,
I did have help with this from a couple of my girls.
We learned a few things as we went along..., so the next time it shouldn't be as tricky for us.

We would have loved some rosettes here and there, but the baby would not appreciate them, so we left them off.

Guest Book or Other?

Guest Books are a great part of the wedding or gathering, and we don't ever want to do away with them, or without some way of signing in.
There are so many clever ways to sign in now days.
I love the guest book with photos and some simple history - like those created at Heritage Makers
I will admit it is a bit spendy, but I haven't found a better place to create your own style for a wedding guest book.  They have so many options and are awesome.

Personal photo

Here are some that I have made in the past:
Thomas and Dana
Skyler and Lisa
Michael and Tawnee

Guest books are not the only thing you can create there ... check it out.
-----
But, if guest books aren't really what you are looking for ...
Here are a few ideas that I love.

Maybe a framed photo where guests sign the mat around the photo. Like this one here
Personal photo
-----

How about plates to sign? Like these from Martha Stewart
Are they Guest Plates?
-----

Beantown Bride shares an idea that each guest could sign a rock and put it in a bowl (or jar) for display - great fun!

Some call them wishing stones
-----

Or sign game or puzzle pieces, like these Jenga blocks. Great fun from Once Wed
-----

How about a calendar like this from Martha Stewart Weddings, where everyone finds their birthday and signs their name?  A great way to remember friends in the future.
-----

Sign index cards or the like, and put them inside beautiful boxes like this from Heart Handmade
-----

Or sign wooden hearts to put into a box like these from Art Fire
-----

Speaking of hearts ... I love these hearts from Calluna Events
-----

Maybe a guest quilt like this one from Wedding By Color.  I love this idea!!!
If you have some great ideas for guest sign ins then please drop me a note (and a photo) - I'd love to see them!

Cute Quilts

Just look at this quilt I saw on Pinterest - Isn't it sweet?!?!?!

This one is from Pinterest too.  I really like strips.

And one more from Pinterest - more strips.

Red Pepper Quilts is a quilting blog with some awesome quilts like these next three -

Red Pepper Quilts also has an Etsy shop where she sells quilts and patterns.

There are so many cute quilts out there!
I think I should try my hand at making one.  I'll add it to my TO DO list!!!!

Blanket / Quilt Tents

This reminds me of the fun we used to have as children, hanging blankets and sheets all over our laundry lines at home. It was so fun and exciting, and we enjoyed every minute of it ... until clean up. Ours were fun, this is beautiful.
She Walks In Beauty

I don't remember where I first saw this, and while trying to find out I could only find it on Pinterest. But, this type of A frame tent is pretty simple and clever for outdoor rooms.

An A frame tent is ever so beautiful as an indoor area too. Like this next photo from Modern Parents Messy Kids. This site is full of indoor "Handmade Hideaways".

Lace Tent. Simply Bloom

Here is another photo I stored without the site info. I wish I had know then, what I know now...AND...I wish I knew now what I knew then, then I'd have the info I need. I add it here because I still like it and hope to find the info later.

I can't get the photo I saw on this site but there is a cool outdoor A frame made with branches HERE

When I was trying to find a couple of these tents that I had seen earlier I found this on Pinterest. It too, really reminded me of our blankets and sheets on the clothes line. We had 4 or 5 strings on our line so we could make them pretty big. Ours didn't have a peak at the top..., they were more flat..., but they were big and wonderful.
