What do you do with a fork. A fork?

Silly question isn't it?
We eat with a fork!

You can press the crust of a pie with a fork.
You can mash things
or stir things
or pull things apart
and sometimes it can even cut things.
But don't stop there ...

I have used a fork to take out a knot.  It works nicely.
Just push one of the end tines into the knotted area, hold the shoe lace (or whatever is knotted) between the tine and your thumb and try to pull it apart.  Try several places and soon it loosens and it's not a knot any more!
Google even supplied me with a photo (kind of) so I didn't have to take one myself.

I don't get the fork stuck through the knot the first time like this photo shows, but eventually I have always gotten the knot undone.  Some have been pretty hard, but I just had to be persistent. Baby steps ...

Maybe you want to tie a knot ... or a bow -  a tiny bow like this from Operation Write Home.
It looks like a fork can help you do that.

or use a fork to make a pom pom like this from Vivid Please

One last idea for a fork ...

this idea comes from Ariel ...

but you might have to call it a dinglehopper if you want it to work.

I'll bet a fork, when used as a dinglehopper might not perform as well as it does for making poms, but I haven't tried it for either ..., yet!

Out in the Yard

Hose Post from Mini Manor Blog - great idea for several places in the yard. I love a clean and organized look. I think I should make one of these ..., or two of these ..., maybe even three!

This is a great place for out in the yard.  Wouldn't any child love this Queenslander play area seen at CubbyKraft  (FYI - there is a similar, but smaller one, called Redwood that's fun too.  But, don't stop there, because there are many different play areas - all sizes and styles and fun. Inspiring fun!  All at Australian Cubby Houses

I like this look from 123 Home Improvement

Lovely!  I like it all, but saved the look mostly for the floor/ground
From Gypsy Purple Home

A few weeks ago a Pinterest Weekly email shared a Garden Board that had a few photos that attracted my attention.
I love this look -
the old wood, the blue door, the twigs and twines and autumn colored leaves, the wood above the entrance that reads Tangled Garden, the brick entrance flooring ...,

I love this raised bed garden wonderfully wrapped with a fence and building.

I have some raised garden beds in my backyard.  I've thought about putting a fence in the back to separate the equipment yard from the garden, but I figure that will just give one more place for weeds to collect or something to break down and need repair, so I haven't done it.  We do have an awesome strawberry box/fence in front of the garden and I love it.  Part of the strawberry box and the garden boxes can be seen in this post.  Maybe someday when our yard is a bit cleaner I can post another photo of that area.

Use Up ALL Of The Toothpaste!

Stuff I'm lovin'

is a theme that I will focus on all of this lovin' month.

First up today is
one of my favorite things
since it's the first day of the month, and that's what I decided to post about each first day of the month this year.

I'm lovin' this toothpaste tube flattener (is that a word)
I don't really know what it's called.
...
Okay, I took a minute to google it and found it to be called a "squeezer" not "flattener".

I found them a couple years ago as I was shopping at Walmart - in the grocery isle in random places.  I thought I'd spend a couple dollars to find out if they work ..., and they do!

I guess I have two in one favorites today, cause I love this toothpaste too.

A Handy Tool

It's Show and Tell Time!

This is not a paid advertisement - it's just a review of one of my favorite things.
This in one of those things that I am grateful for because it is so useful and takes up very little space and isn't too heavy to carry around.

little blue pocket knife/tool I keep in my bag

Now that I take a look at it, I see that it is a Leatherman Micra.
It was a gift many years ago from a company my husband deals with.  It became mine, and I've cherished it ..., okay, maybe not cherished in the true sense of the word, but I've kept it in my bag and used it many times. You can see how much the paint has worn off in the photos below.

I like the scissors (instead of pliers on most Leatherman's).

I like the knife too.  We use this often when we traveled with hungry children in the car and we needed to cut an apple (or whatever) into wedges to share.

A great little device to carry around for those needy moments.

Funny thing - I had to remove it when I entered the building for jury duty several weeks ago.  I didn't want them to take it, because I was afraid I wouldn't get it back. (You know, I often forget things, and I didn't want to forget to pick it up on my way out.)  Luckily I did remember!  Happy day!

3 Step Ladder

It's Show and Tell Time

This is not a paid advertisement - it's just a review of one of my favorite things.
This in one of those things that I am grateful for, because it makes life a bit easier in simple ways.

Simple indeed - it's just a step ladder - but it helps me reach things on those high shelves or change a light bulb in the ceiling much easier.

Furniture Sliders

It's Show and Tell Time

This is not a paid advertisement - it's just a review of one of my favorite things.
This in one of those things that I am grateful for, because it makes life a bit easier in simple ways.

These furniture sliders have been a great item to have in my home.  I can't always wait for the men to lift and move things into place for me, so when I want it moved, I can move it myself (usually).

We bought these over 20 years ago when we built our home and I have used them many times (if you look closely you can see the wear and tear on the pads, but they still work great).

One side is padded to help the furniture stay in place, and the other side is slick to allow the pad (with the heavy furniture on it) slide across the carpet.

Just lift the piece of furniture and slide the mover under the leg/foot of the furniture ..., repeat four times (of course).

I just slide the mover under with my foot, so I can use both hands/arms to lift.

They fit most styles of furniture "feet" too.
Oh wow, it's easy to see the wear and tear on a piece of furniture when you take a close up.  That's what years of use can do for it.  This piece of furniture was my grandmothers, so it's got more wear and tear than my furniture sliders do.

Awesome stuff!  I sure love having these things around.

I don't know what brand these are, but I have seen some at Lowes that look like they work well.  They are online too - just take a look on Amazon.
