Surrounded by Color

I really enjoy seeing the color tags added to pictures of the scenes that surround us.  They aren't necessarily things we see daily, but they are usually things of nature that are so lovely and I am so grateful for our God who gave us this wonderfully beautiful world in which we live and where we find these scenes that surround us.

I found color palette generator and used a photo I took earlier to see what I could come up with.  This is a scene we saw in November on our walk to the transplant clinic.  It was a beautiful thing to see each day and I decided to snap a photo of it so I could keep that look available to view as I wished.

I used that photo to come up with this

Generator

#dd6688
#ccdddd
#bbccaa
dull

#665555

vibrant

I like that sight - it's quite easy to use and the dull and vibrant color choices are lovely.  However, I do think the green they chose was a different green than I see in the photo.
Color Hunter is another site I found and they give a similar color scheme.  Again, the green is a bit different than what my eyes see, but is more true to what the computer is seeing as we compare the two sites.

One more site I have used before is Chip It! by Sherwin Williams.  I think the greens match best here, so this would be my favorite.  The first thing it shows is the first column of colors. It has a tab under that column that says Edit Colors, and when I clicked that tab it showed the second column of colors.

---
Image Color Picker allows you to click on the photo and find colors of each area of your photo.

I found a few other sites to check out, but haven't really taken the time to do so yet.  They are about color, but each offers something a bit different:

and to see how you can use paint chips check out Colour Lovers
If you have used any of these and have any comments about them please leave a comment here or send me an email to share your thoughts.

Thanks!
and

Happy Color-ing!

My Mainbath Redo - part 2 - Color

What colors to use?

We are keeping the gray countertop and tiles and the flooring will remain (it is white with gray lines).

We will be painting walls and cupboards and other furniture pieces.  Looking for fun, but relaxing color.

We were thinking blues -
So here are some blues and grays from The Creativity Exchange

And these from Favorite Paint Colors
This aqua or turquoise blue/green from Sand & Sisal is beautiful and calming, yet happy  - a look we really like.

We have made a bit of a change in our thinking, and
we are now thinking lavender...
with some accent colors ...

Here is a lovely lavender wall from Colormatch

--

decor8 shows these two rooms - the room on the left has the lavender walls and the blue rug - lavender and blue ..., that appeals to me.

--

I don't care for the bright yellow in this next picture, but I like the other two colors together.

--

Here is a lovely lavender wall from Apartment Therapy
I like the additional colors here - though the brown surprises me.  I also need a bit more dusty or distressed green for the look I'm hoping to create.

--

This next room is a lovely combo from homedit.   I almost need to redo a bedroom to match this look.  We love it!  We just don't have a room that would look as lovely as this.

I like the back wall looking a bit beige - it seems to help calm the colors in the room and make it warm and inviting.
The color of the wall behind the door helps me see how a green piece of furniture would look against the wall,
and the blue-ish throw on the chaise can help give an idea of a blue piece of furniture with this color combo.
The dark purple color in the pillows adds a lovely touch too.
The whites are a must!

--

Though it is too dark for what I am wanting, I like this wall with the texture or aged look, and the combination of colors from other things create a rustic and interesting look.

--

My Interior Inspirations shares this lavender room.
This lavender seems a little light, and the green luv seat seems a little dark, but I like the green wooden chairs, and of course, the white furniture.

--

I love this shower curtain from Zillow
and the deeper purple frame on the mirror is awesome.

--

A lavender or purple and green, and blue from The Decorologist
This includes black, but I think I like white a bit better for our smaller room.

While we are at it, look at this color combo (from the above site)

Well, we've got some work to do.

White Rooms

I wish I could see each of these rooms in person to really know what they look like.
All white can seem so pale to me, but some of these are so lovely.

I love the white and wood combos like these -

Colorful Looks

Spring can be quite colorful with the flowers blooming and Spring springing up everywhere.
Sometimes the spring colors inspire us to add more color to the areas we are living in or decorating.  Here are some lovely ways to add color and cheer.
The Design Files has a post with these great looks - using an assortment of color in tassels and chairs.

---

I love the look of this kitchen - I found this lovely look, and a few other colorful looks, from a post titled Pottery Display - Some Of My Favorites, at
Gold Country Girls

---

Wouldn't this be a cheerful place to visit - from House of Turquoise

 ---

Similar colors as above, but not so bold - a bit calmer to my soul.

---

This collection of magazine holders, from here, is colorfully fun to look at. This whole corner is full of color.
I love my little drawers covered in paper, here. The colors are cheerful to be around.
I have used these types of magazine holders before and still have a few waiting to be used again if needed.  I might have to pull them out and find a place to use them so I can cover them in cute paper or fabric.

---

I still love bunting, and using bunting is an easy and fun way to add color to things and places. These three ideas come from Tatertots and Jello

Cute and colorful fabric bunting and adorable bunting cookies.

bunting on a bag will cheer up a loved one

bunting on a wall, over top of  some colorful pinwheels - imagine the colors you could use.

---

Here is some bunting made of colorful paper circles and white paper doilies, from Landee see Landee do.  She made this rainbow of colors for St. Patricks Day, but it would work equally nice for Easter or for birthdays, or any celebration of color.

---
Color seem to add cheer and delight to any day.
Color can be so inspiring!

So ..., Spring ..., bring on the Color!

Pink and Gold and Silver

More pink?  Yip! and this time it has gold and silver with it.  Ever wondered if you could use gold and silver in the same decor?
*****

Here is more gold - a lovely look from Celebrations at Home
This look adds blue (and of course the green and white from the flowers), but those could be traded out for pinks.  I'd love to have seen this in person.

Blue Kitchen from House of Turquoise

Or maybe blue walls would appeal to you more than blue cupboards.  From House of Turquoise.
And, how about two refrigerators right in the kitchen?  Great idea if you have space enough for it.

and it doesn't look like this place is hurting too much for space

Just a touch of blue from House of Turquoise

A Beautiful Room

This is lovely - from House of Turquoise
the colors seem so relaxing, the soft blue (is it robin egg or??) and the khaki or wicker color and the white ... lovely with the crystal and the gold on the chandelier.
I often wonder how I would feel living in a house with such colorful walls.  Would I feel the same as I feel when I see it in a photo?  Maybe I'll have to try it sometime.

Boho - The Look!

There are some great photos and hints at Dishfunctional Designs for how to create that Bohemian look.
Most include great and bright colors, but one is quite white and lovely.
Many include beads and beads always add a shiny glow to things.  I especially like the beads used as curtain tie backs.

Can't say I really believe this (hum! I wonder what color that would make me?) but I think it is kinda fun.  From The Perfect Palette

White and Turquoise Living / Decor by Color

This look intrigues me.  I love the simple lines, the outdoor dining area under a shady tree surrounded by three walls - cool white walls with the beautiful turquoise color doors - it looks like a great escape.
This look comes from 79ideas

--
I've been checking out 79ideas for several weeks now.  I looked at it, created the above portion of this post, and then went to the next blogs I read and somewhere (I don't even remember where) I found House of Turquoise on a bloglist.  I thought it a bit ironic though that I would find it on the same day.  It seems to fit though.
House of Turquoise blogs about things turquoise - easy as that - so I saw more lovely turquoise decor.
She even has a shop - Everything Turquoise
Lovin' that color!
Speaking of color, she also has other blogs - Decor by Color
where she searches the web for items of color - "the products you want in the colors you love"

--

Um! I thought my post on Turquoise was done ... but then ....
Okay, the same day still, after saving my turquoise post, I found another site with turquoise color - - - somethings going on here.  I'm just going thru my Reader and coming up with all this on one day.  Kinda freakin' me out a bit - what am I missing?  I didn't get any memo to blog about turquoise ... oh no! ... but I am now bloggin about turquoise ... wow! ... my head is spinning!
Pink Wallpaper got the memo about the Turquoise posts and put up some great looks ...

--
Okay, now I plan on ending this post right here ..., but ...,  if I get reading more and find more turquoise I am really going to be wondering what is going on.   Don't worry ... I'll return and this post will continue if I find more, but if not, assume that I'm back to normal and the turquoise thing is over.  Lovely while it lasted, but over!

--

Guess What?  Are these doors from Roadkill Rescue turquoise?

--

I still haven't found a memo!
I've only got a couple more blogs, so I could be ending here ?!?!?!?!
