Sliced Wood Chargers

Would anyone like a slice of wood?
I would!
This woodsy look from Wedding Chicks - would make a wonderful fall / Thanksgiving setting.
The clear plates over the wood slice is a great look.

I love the squash too.

Lovely Flowers and More

This lovely bouquet from Style Me Pretty is beautiful by itself, but has strands of pink beads laying beside it that adds so much more loveliness.

Aren't the colors so beautiful - soft and lovely pinks and whites.

I found some more lovely flower arrangements at Green Wedding Shoes
I love the addition of fruits (figs, pomegranates, pears, peaches, and the berries of course).  I Really Do Love This Look!

These colors are awesome, the place setting is wonderful ...

Of course I love the bottles ...

The drinks are even lovely aren't they!!!
I don't know what their drink is, but I would love this look with a Cran-Raspberry juice.  I'd love the look and the taste with those fresh berries.

And the cake is great ...

And this swing is awesome too ...

 Gorgeous!!!

I've pinned a few other bouquets and arrangements on my Pinterest Board - Flowers, Bouquets ..., - take a look if you'd like.

Beach Stuff

Ready for some Summer Fun ... in the sand ... ?
Here are some fun things I found in my files and wanted to save.

Sand Painting from a Carson-Delos Publication

---

Sand Mosaics here (and with a much better picture)

---

Here are a couple things I had pictures of, but decided not to scan my original page because these are definitely better than scans:

---

---

Woman's Day 7/18/89  had a similar project with sand in this issue.

---
It also had some cute shells creatures - just glue the eyes on shells, and then glue them to a magnet or pin back if you wish.

---

Drift Wood and Pebble Tic Tac Toe would be fun, like this from a Woman's Day 7/18/89 magazine.

---

I don't know why I can't find this one, but it's really a cute idea I found in 2006 -
Beach Preserves
(maybe they found that for some reason it doesn't really work as well as they would like)
I thought at first that it was going to be some sort of jelly that set up to hold everything in place, but nope, just seawater.
It's cute how they glued the sand onto the rim too.
---
and this one couldn't be found online, but I think it's a fun change from a sand castle
---
Lastly, our children  helped create these at a family reunion in 2006 using sand from the beach we were at and shells from a little store nearby (because let's face it, it wasn't easy finding little shells like these in the sand on the beach - they were nowhere to be found).

Multi-Media Storage

Make a storage box / drawer or a small storage shelf like these I clipped from an Oct. 2006 Family Fun magazine.

---

We have a "Lean-on-me Holder" in our house.  Hubby made it in his younger years (I don't know if it was school or scouts) and it's still being used - it's a put together in a little different way, but it's been around for a lot of years.  Presently it sits on his shelf above his desk.

Here's a bit of history and explaining -
One might notice the Spanish books (and photo) above and wonder about it.  He is not Hispanic, but served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Spain (1976-1978).
Because he has learned Spanish he has served in our church with the Hispanic people, and has made lasting and treasured friendships.
He loves to learn and uses that dictionary often, though the Spanish scriptures may not get used as much anymore, since he has been released from that call to serve.

Branch Shelf

Stuff I'm lovin'

I love The Land of Nod  - they always have some great ideas and looks for children's rooms.
Here is a page from their February 2013 Catalog- with the cutest shelf idea.
Just use a tree branch to make a great little play shelf!

Pallet Wood Stuff

Is the weather outside frightful?  Are your children wondering what to play?  Indoor play might require a stage - if so, build one out of pallets like this from Sugar Baby Boutique

If acting isn't in your kids blood then maybe reading is, so add some pillows to make it a reading nook like this.

Here is another one from Funky Junk Interiors
There are a few other items there too.

Wooden Tags

I love the look of these wooden tags from Hans Creations  - an Etsy shop with the DIY look you might like to purchase instead of doing it yourself.  That's kinda what Etsy is for.  I just need a reason to purchase sometimes ... hope one comes up so I can get these ... :)

Wouldn't they be great with a saying on them for favors?  OR, Just tying one to any package would look awesome - maybe my Christmas Look this year will have to include these????  Thinking !!!

Just love the LOOK!

For A Rustic Look

Scrap wood pieces made usable - Kind of intriguing to me. They'd be great for some rustic occasion.
DIY at Design Sponge

Keeping with the wood theme, check out the rustic table numbers at The Country Chic Cottage
Wood pieces could be used for signs of all sorts.

And here is a great look - blues and browns ...  wood ... pies ... garland ... etc.  -  From Bubble and Sweet    (Click on the link for more photos, including a great ribbon garland hanging on the table.)

We musn't forget these stump cake tiers from Blue Velvet Chair

More stumps decor from Wedding Bee

And I really like the white stump look ... used for vases.  Found at Something Green

I think I like Something Green.  Here are a few more photos from there:

Bale seating is always eye catching to me.

Wrapping up a napkin like this is a great look.

Vintage fabric scraps for garland and decor.

Great Tiny bottle tags.

Paper placemats ... and other pretty decor.

A True Chalk Board

Design Sponge shares these Chalk Tablets. Though the idea of using bleachers as the board is quite clever and exciting to many, I just love the idea of a small piece of wood with a chalk pencil attached to it. It looks like it's easy enough to make, and for much cheaper than the twenty dollars each. Old pallets are being used everywhere, how about here?!?!?!

It could make a very cute favor!!!

Bottles, Jars, Flowers - Still a Great Combo

Ever so lovely Style Me Pretty

This is a pretty collection! It looks like there could be name cards hanging on the vases. Do the guests pick up their flowers, take them to their table (adding decor and eliminating assigned seats) and then take them home (as their favor)? Cool! Once Wed

From a wedding somewhere???

This collection is found at Eat Drink Chic

Just add frames for this look. Wallflowers DIY at Amuse Bouche

Bottles are available from Luna Bazaar and Amazon sells from them too. (haven't compared prices) Each color has about 7 different styles of bottles.

Painted bottles and single color flowers or berries at (I think I like the berries more than the jars) P is for Party

There are some blue jars and flowers on this post too.

Surprise! These bottle flowers are quite creative! How to at Paul Murray
