Picnic Time For Teddy Bears

When I was a young girl at home I heard my mother sing a song about The Teddy Bears' Picnic. It was such a fun little song and it intrigued me. Several years ago, when all my children were small, I found a book with that title and simply had to have it. The story told in that book were the same words my mother would sing (or pretty close to them).

If you go down in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you do down in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise;
For ev'ry Bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic.

Ev'ry Teddy Bear who's been good
Is sure of a treat today.
There's lots of marvellous things to eat,
And wonderful games to play.
Beneath the trees where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please,
'Cause that's the way the Teddy Bears have their picnic.

Picnic time for Teddy Bears,
The little Teddy Bears are having a lovely time today.
Watch them, catch them unawares
And see them picnic on their holiday.
See them gaily gad about,
They love to play and shout;
They never have any care;
At six o'clock their Mummies and Daddies
Will take them home to be,
Because they're tired little Teddy Bears.

The book is so adorable.

Picnic time is almost gone, but there are some fun ideas out there.
Check out Picnic Time at everythingfab. The looks here could fit into a fall theme nicely.

This next look is fun, maybe more for summer though. Just change the colors to make it more fitting for fall. Found on Pinterest.

I think this is beautiful too. This is Outdoor Dining from House and Home.

Additional FUN FACTS about my Teddy Bear's Picnic:

The table cloth and napkins were something my mother made years ago to sell at a church bazaar.
I bought them, and later used them in my daughters room, on the same little table (and chairs) that my grandparents let us have for a side table when we got married.  We had dolls and other stuffed animals at the chairs in her room.

The tea set is a set I purchased for my daughter many years ago.

This look is NOT the look she has in her room now, of course.
The table is back in my family room beside my love seat.
