Party Ideas and Bonnie Oscarson and The Good Fairies ...

I found some fun looks on Bonnie Oscarson's Party Ideas pinboard, and needed to save some of them.
Here are a few of my favorites (that I haven't already seen and saved).
I do not know Bonnie Oscarson, but have recently been introduced to her pins - and have decided that she is a great person to follow ..., for her pin boards and for her example and counsel. (read a little about her here, and about her and her family here)

These fun swirls can be purchased from Shindigz - it looks like a fun place for party supplies.
(or as suggested on pinterest - cut your own out of poster board)

---
I like this look too.  Garlands are a big favorite of mine - the streamers hanging for this backdrop are so cute.  I love the different shapes, and of course the pinks are pretty.  And, that saying on the wall "What to be is up to me!" has been a favorite of mine for many years now.

I found it really interesting that she had a few pins with balloons and streamers similar to this next photo - when I see them I'm just sure she has the thought of using this idea with all of the Young Women Value colors ( ... I would!).

Aren't these fun crowns - that I don't usually have a need for, with an older daughter instead of a younger daughter, but again, I see these used as beautiful decor for a lovely Young Women Event.

Because of my days of blanket tents on the clothes line, in my childhood years, I have become a fan of the fun tent and canopy looks found these days.  This is another fun canopy look - outside, with balloons surrounding it.  One fun note with this pin (and the real reason I am saving this look) was to use golf tees to hold the balloons down on the ground.  I'm not a golfer, so I probably wouldn't have thought of that.

Here is a fun favor idea, or lunch idea ...
Boxed milk and donuts.  I love fun and creative boxed lunches for a great picnic - or in this case a great favor for a couples party.

I think I've seen this look before, but don't know if I saved it, so I'm saving it here - napkin ring menu card.  This is also a fun idea for a great quote or wish or fun fact displayed for the guests.

Fun way to create your own candle holders with lamp shades.

Here is a cute garden party look.

Now, just because I think it's cute, I've added this one last photo I saw here.  Bonnie Oscarson has pinned it on her Funny Stuff Board, which has some really cute funny stuff - worth taking a peek at.
And, something else I found, tracking this cute pin - Unlimited Tator Tots, a blog belonging to her daughter, and a great post about her experience when her mother was called.

And, FYI, Elaine S. Dalton is on pinterest too - no party board, but other great looks she has saved - I love her Quotable Quotes Board.

Wedding Decor

I thought this was a great and summery look - from Second Chances

It starts at the guest table where guests write a note for the couple and put their message in a jar.
..

Raffia and shell garland is used to create a great look in front of the table.

..

These labels are displayed on the cutest of finials or posts or ??? whatever they are.

..

And, the bouquet had shells in it too - lovely addition to a beautiful collection.

..

More lovely comes in the way of a dressed up gazebo - dressed in lacey curtains.

..

-----
After finishing this post about the Beach Wedding, I found that this family had another Shabby Chic Wedding earlier.
There were several great looks there too.

You'll recognize these label holders from the wedding above - they are wooden salt and pepper shakers, candlesticks and wooden balls, and curly paper clips. Cool!

..

The food tables all had white icicle lights attached to them before the table skirting was put on. They were covered with vinyl lace fabric purchased from JoAnn's and cut to size.  And isn't that bunting cute?!?!?!

 ..

Love the picket fence here!  The backdrop was made from sheets - hung on pvc pipe.

A Wedding Look

Okay, it's pink, is that why I like this wedding from Ruffled?
I'm sure it is a factor, but I really like the backdrop here, and not because it has a couple pink things in view.

There is a pink cloth on this, but the whole view combines to make a lovely look. The contrasting colors of the pink and white with the dark wood fence, the assorted textures including the smooth wood/paint of the table, the soft cloth, the flowers in the drawer, the greenery on the cake, the glass, the wire of the fence and the old wood ..., it's all so nice.

I like the flowers, twigs, and berries in the vase, the candle stick and votives, the door knob, the lace trimmed cloth on a rustic wood table, oh, it's a lovely look whether pink or green or blue or yellow or whatever color it might be.

Okay, I always love a chandelier no matter the color.

I did already mention the berries in the vase, but it's worth showing here too.

I really like this look - it just happens to be pink.
I love that it's outside too!

Wedding Decor

This wedding is inspired by Anne of Green Gables, and I love that movie.  We have seen it a few times - though it's been awhile.  I think we better watch it again.   Anyway, these are some great wedding decorations I found from Green Wedding Shoes

First picture is the wedding cakes and the lovely cloth they are on and even lovelier canopy surrounding them.  A sweet and peaceful look. The colors are delightful too.

This mini individual carrot cake is a rather cute idea too.

Here are some hoops with lace, hung from the trees - they add a special look as the sun shines on and through them.

Possibly my favorite of the event is the centerpiece - candlesticks topped with teacups filled with candles.  I would love to see this lit up in the evening.  I might add a few tea lights on the wood platform they are on so that it would help the tea cups glisten a bit more.  I guess I'd have to see if it really worked.  It is awesome in my mind, but not always do things turn out the way my mind views them.

Paint Something

Elmer's glue and food coloring mixed together and painted on glass can apparently create this look I found on Pinterest.
I've not tried this yet, but I have a few previous posts showing other ways to color glass.
Some day maybe I'll need these looks and try one or more of these options.
Those previous posts are -

I always love the idea of spray painting.
There is a Quick Guide to Spray Painting Glass at Dishfunctional Designs.

And try Krylon's thediyclub and scroll down for several things Pretty In Paint.

Another post about spray painting - from Centsational Girl.

Are these painted? They look like they could be spray painted white.
It's a lovely look non-the-less. Such cute and delicate colors and flowers.

Here's a cute little unit - a shelf of bottles. Now, that sounds crazy, just look at the big cupboard that those cute little shelves are on! I like it too, but I have one of these little shelves with bottles and drawers in my laundry room ... it holds buttons. I saw this look from My Scrap Room
then this look from Kara's Party Ideas
Here is what mine looks like. Notice the little shelf above it too - just a row of bottles.
They are handy little units. Maybe someday I'll refinish them and love the look even more. Hmmm! What Color?

Info on How to Paint Over Varnish could be helpful sometime. It sounds so easy.

Now, take a look at this Awesome Paisley Table from Domestic Imperfection ...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I have an bedside table/night stand much like the one in this next photo. Mine is a little less boxy and has a bit more detail (groves/layers) that make it a bit trickier. I've been toying with the idea of painting mine a gray, blue, or white distress look. I've been too worried to start the project because I am not sure how the finished project will look, I'm not sure it will be worth the many hours of work for every piece, and I have a hard time thinking that I want to destroy the original look. I have the whole bedroom set (two night stands, headboard, foot board, dresser, chest of drawers with a large heavy wall mirror) so it's a big project. It was my mother and father's set first - so it's also a bit sentimental ... ya, I do that!
I'm saving this look from Restore Interiors so that maybe it can help me make up my mind someday.
I found another night stand much like the one above, and a little more like mine, though still different ...   It gives the look of a different color.  It's from Jordyn Luise Blog.
You'll find a picture of mine in previous posts:
In the second photo here - used as wedding decor, and
in this post here - beside my bed.

Oh! To Paint ... or Not To Paint?  That is the question!?!?!?
