Nothing Added

This is a great outdoor area from 100 Layer Cake
It's a beautiful natural look! Nothing Added except for the chairs and microphone stand.  How easy is that!  (Except for the upkeep year round, but I'm guessing that gets done anyway.)

Here is the same area with a different look, from Verandas Beach House. It looks like this was before the greenery grew and color was added.

Just thinking about weddings and receptions today, especially since My husband and I are celebrating 34 years ...,  He's still the one! ..., and ALWAYS will be!
And, I keep trying to be the one for him ..., still!

Outdoor Lighting

I snapped a photo of this park in Southern California because I wanted to remember the string of lighting over what I think was a senior center bocce court, if I remember correctly.
This was last summer and I had forgotten to post it until going thru photos for scrapbooking recently.

It is not very easy to see in this photo, but it was a great look to remember.
Maybe I'll have a need for this look sometime.

A Bloomin' Truck Load

I think this is so adorable.  I love this look.
This look comes from This Old House

an old toy truck used as an outdoor planter

Doesn't it make you smile?  I am almost giddy at how cute it is.

I have a few old toys I am waiting to use ..., somehow, somewhere, sometime.  They are a little more worse for wear, but I love them for the memories they help bring to my heart and soul.

I'll keep this dump truck flower pot look in mind!

You'll find several other fun ideas for using "junk" in the garden on that site too.

An Autumn Tablescape

enjoy an autumn dinner in the great outdoors

like this table set up from a past Home Companion magazine

or bring this look indoors if you wish - it would be lovely indoors too.

Garden Beds

I do have garden beds, but I don't have the little seat area on the ends like this.  It's a great idea.

From Family Fun June 2006 magazine

I think the top seat area would help hold it together better and be awesome for a great place to sit while weeding the garden.

One thing I have learned (the hard way) is that garden beds shouldn't be very wide.  It's too hard to weed in the middle of the box if they are too wide.

Here is a picture of our garden boxes, found in our scrapbooks - taken about 12 years ago.

Harvesting from them can be kinda fun!

The look has changed since 2001.
I'll have to try for a photo next year, because I'm out of time this year.

Yard Tools Side Shed

I think this is a great storage shed / space
from a Sunset magazine, but I don't know what issue.

I have a plan to put something like this on the side of my pump house out by my garden.  I don't know when it will get done - it won't be this year - but I would love one there someday.

Great Looks for the Great Outdoors

More looks from my paper file system ...
These looks are for the yard ... the great outdoors!

Here is a great path in the yard,
From Better Homes and Garden March 2010 magazine

Brick patio and lovely yard - there are many lovely things to look at here.
from Better Homes and Garden June 2010 magazine

Another great yard area - this one has a cute little house beside it's dining area, and the cute house has some cool flower boxes, and ..., just keep looking at this area, onto the second page too, to see all the great looks this has to offer.
from Better Homes and Garden September 2009 magazine

Now for an apple tree fence line - awesome!
They "planted the trees on a trellis system [they] designed..., joined them like they were holding hands..., and pruned and trained them using a method called espalier, to grow horizontally as a fence shape, called a cordon."
from Better Homes and Gardens September 2009 magazine

I can see why I saved these looks - awesome huh!

How about this garden idea from For the Love of Lillian -

Something else for the yard ...
Handmade Charlotte shares several playhouse ideas.
This one looks fun and simple and great.  We've seen this type of thing, called a soft wall tent, at camps before (usually with four walls).

Garden Delight

Love this garden from Rustic Wedding Chic
If I had a garden like this I would put my old fridge in it too!
There is so much I like about this rustic look - the color, the old swing, the pathway and edging, the wood post things (what are those called anyway?), the trees, and even the dryness of it all because that would mean I'd be able to grow things in my garden without worrying about watering them. ;)

California vintage style wedding location
----

Maybe we could walk thru a lovely gate door like this, from Houzz, into a beautiful garden ...

----

Maybe we could find a beautiful mossy chair (from google) in the garden behind that door above

An Old Truck and a Canopy in the Trees.

Need a place to sleep?
This photo comes from The Lisa Porter Collection

I think the broom is a fun addition.  Does it suggest that there might be witches in the area?  It does look like a rather enchanted area.  Love it!

A Beautiful Place

I bet they don't get much dust in this area - where's the dirt to create it?
Isn't it a lovely look!!!  It's a lovely idea too ..., no dust!
Oh, we have dust here ..., dirt and wind create a lot of it ..., and we have a lot of dirt and a lot of wind here !!!

The problem I see with this look is that I want it all ..., for myself.
I have a hard time with wall to wall neighbors.
Unless my neighbors were my children and their families - then that would be wonderful.
One reason I love country life.  We have great neighbors ..., down the road a bit.

After all is said and done - I'd miss the dirt if I lived here.  But isn't it lovely!!!!

Vintage Weddings

Vintage is possibly my favorite look.  It can combine with most any other look to create a beautiful and complete look. I think Boho fits nicely with Vintage - they can be quite similar when using neutral and washed out colors.
Click on Weddings Galore-y at the right to see all the weddings I've posted - the majority are vintage.
On this post I hope to not show any that I have previously shown, so be sure to take at look at that Galore-y because there are some beautiful vintage weddings there.
A great vintage wedding can be found at Elizabeth Anne Designs.
I don't know what is hanging on those strings from the tree - any ideas???

---

 From Riverside Cottage
"Natural settings are hugely popular for the beauty and ambiance that they provide & the minimal decor that is required."
It is a lovely look - indoors or out, but outdoors does seem to be a bit more appealing to me.  Such a cute hanging ornament / votive holder, especially against the textures of the tree bark and sheer swag. Beautiful.

Trees can be a great focus point - just look at the way they use this tree, here.

This setup is lovely - the different areas, the rock walk and wall, the blues, the pinks, the whites..., it's such a great look.

How about some vintage books on some rustic(ish) brick?  From Simple is BeautifulThis is simple and beautiful.

---

More great looks here
Lace ..., lovely lace!

---

and have you ever dressed up an orange like this, or seen one dressed like this?  Kinda cute huh!

---

Vintage Doors from The Plunge Project.
Old doors are always cool.  How about that door hanging with rope, creating a great table!!!  It might move a bit as you are eating at it, but it would only make things more interesting.

---

Suitcases as weddings are great!
Isn't the color of this suitcase lovely!  From Casamenteiras.

---

This is a bit familiar, but I don't recall if I have shown it before, so I'm taking a chance and posting it here, because I just don't want to forget it.
From Vintage Blossom.
Love the tablecloth and the chair.
I'm pretty sure I haven't shown the bottles and twigs - they are awesome too.

---

That ruffled table cloth setup comes from this wedding at Green Wedding Shoes and includes these too.
Of course I love the assorted glassware, and I also love the doily cloth, the cherries in the candy bowl, the flowers/greenery on the plate.

Okay, I guess I've got to stop somewhere!
Vintage!  It's just so lovely!

One last thing -
Rustic Wedding Chic has a post about the Top 10 Vintage Weddings.
This is one of them - and yes, I almost forgot - boots and baby's breath are definitely included in some vintage weddings.

Bridesmaids in different color cowboy boots

You might want to take a peek at each of those 10 weddings so you don't miss out on things like this

and this
country wedding flowers

 and this

 wood-plate-chargers

and this

texas-vintage-style-wedding

and this

and ..., I should stop ..., really stop!

Um! one final note: those last few were a great fall and winter look weren't they!

okay, I'm done!
for now!
But I'm sure that vintage will keep showing up in future posts.
