Fabric ABC Fun!

Here are some cute sets of fabric alphabet my daughter made for her nieces and nephews.

It all started with this trial set that we have in our family room, created with black and white fabric scraps.

From there it branched out to one set for each of our "married with children" children.

Animal Print

Chevron

Bunting Love

Fish and Flowers

Puzzled
(though I didn't get a finished pic, I'm just using the scraps here)

We had fun choosing and purchasing the fabric for each of these sets - we didn't want to stop.  However, this project does require a lot of time, so for that reason we were happy to be done for awhile since there were other things in need of our attention.

These would make a cute garland in a play room or child's bedroom.  Clip them on some ribbon or twine with clothes pins so they could be played with and rearranged to make names or some fun words.

Quilts

I love the quilting on this quilt.  The colors are wonderful.  The pattern is not necessarily my favorite, but the white could be playing a big part in making this Finished Scrappy Rainbow Quilt look so colorful and bright. From Diary of a Quilter
The back is really bright too.
And the edges look lovely with different patterns.  She didn't plan it that way, but ran out of the first pattern and used the small piece of a stripe.  I think it could have had a few different patterned sections throughout.

Here is a quilt from Moda Bake Shop that has some white in it, framing each color.

The white in this lovely quilt from Lucy & Norman is in the background.

One of my favorite things about this quilt is the strip of pieces in the back side.  What a sweet addition to create color and character.

This quilt from One Shabby Chic uses the same technique as the quilt above (I might have found it from a link on that site above).

Scrap Quilt

Throwing out fabric scraps can sometimes be hard, but hanging on to them can sometimes be harder.

Here is a way to use some of those fabric scraps, as seen at Sew Mama Sew

Fabric Storage

A great look from Cameras and Chaos.

Did you notice the fabric was stored vertically in the previous photo?  That way you don't have to lift the whole stack to get to the bottom piece.

Here is another vertical storage from Mommy by day, Crafter by night.

Tag your pieces of fabric to know what size each piece is.  Write in pencil to change it each time you use it.   We don't always use one single piece of fabric when sewing, so it is a good idea to write a short description of the fabric on the tag so when you take it off you know where to place it again.

This great idea comes from Bloom.
